Join us for our 43rd Open Shoot on sunday 27 september 2026
Ascham Bowmen welcomes archers to its 43rd Open Shoot at our ground in at n Sunday 27 September - for Warwick rounds (single and double) at all distances (open to all members of Archery GB). Registration from 8.30am; Assembly at 9.30am, Sighters at 9.45am.
About the Open Shoot
Rounds: Warwick (2 dozen arrows each at 2 distances) - Single and Double.
Entry fee: Single Warwick £6 adults, £4 U-21 (first session only);
Double Warwick £10, £6 U-21. Fee includes light refreshments.
Payment by bank transfer (name as reference) to Ascham Bowmen s/c 30-99-50; a/c 6838 6363; or in cash on the day.
Bowstyles: recurve, barebow, longbow - NO compound bows.
Arrows: all-carbon arrows are NOT permitted at the ground.
Hospitality: hot and cold drinks, savoury and sweet treats are included in the fee. Raffle tickets will be on sale with tickets drawn for prizes after the second Warwick round, whilst scores are being tabulated and before medals are awarded.
Compete for medals
MEDALS will be awarded in the following age categories for recurve, barebow and longbow; for Single and Double Warwick; and in ladies' and gentlemen's divisions (age as on day of shoot):
Over 21: Warwick, Warwick 50 (new archers Warwick 40);
U-21 Warwick, Warwick 50, (new archers Warwick 40);
U-18 Warwick 50 (new archers Warwick 40);
U16 Warwick 40 (new archers Warwick 30)
U-14 and U-12 Warwick 30 (new archers Warwick 20)
Medals will be awarded in special categories as required: archers shooting the Double Warwick will NOT be eligible for Single Warwick medals. A new archer is someone who has been shooting less than a year. All ages from 9 up, and levels of experience are welcome; archers may shoot at any distance to enjoy the tournament.
There may also be spot prizes awarded.
How to enter
To participate in the 43rd Open Shoot, please email aschamshoot2026@gmail.com
with the following details:
name (lady or gent); AGB number; home club;
age category (DoB if U-21) and whether a new archer;
chosen round and bowstyle;
method of payment.
Closing date for entries is Sunday 20 September or when full. Target lists will be sent out a few days before the tournament. We look forward to receiving your entries and seeing you on the day!

Please notify the organiser in advance if you wish to take photos; Photos of U-18s may only be taken by their parents or guardians. Unauthorised photography will not be permitted. Please let the organiser know if you would not like to feature in photos.
If adverse weather forces us to cancel the tournament, we'll contact entrants by email with details if we are able to reschedule. Fingers crossed for a dry day.
Only members of Archery GB are permitted to shoot and must produce their membership cards on request. Archers awaiting their cards should bring confirmation from their membership officer that an application has been made.
